The year was 1991. My dad had passed away in August and I was taking my mom and sister to London as a "cheer-me-up." We were in United's lounge and I had walked away to get drinks and returned to find my mom chatting with TONY BENNETT! Horrified at what she may say, I listened carefully. She went on to state she was a recent widow (they were the same age) and she really liked him and his music. Further, she let him know she didn't ever plan on remarrying but if she did she would marry him because she was so fond of him. She went on to let him know that additionally if they were married her monogramed towels in the bathroom wouldn't have to be modified as her last name also began with a "B." Rest in Peace Mr. Bennett!
That story's the best!
Great story, great man and great Mom!
